Australia/New Zealand
Thursday May 13th, 2010
With the release of the new SharePoint, Office & Project Server platforms, there are a number of User Group events being planned around Australia & New Zealand, in-line with the Virtual Launch Party being held by Microsoft.
The SharePoint & Project Server User Group communities are arranging to have a ‘simultaneous’ launch party beginning in New Zealand, and then moving to Melbourne, Canberra & Brisbane, and through Adelaide, and then finishing up in Perth.
As there are many separate 'chapters' of the SharePoint User Group of Australia having regularly monthly meetings, this is a fun excuse to get everyone to 'join together' - and have their normal meeting - at the same time as other cities.
Plans are being finalised, but expect the following in some form or other :
- After work (5.30pm onwards) - for approximately 2 hours
- Grab a beer and some free food, and enter to win some cool prizes
- Quick-fire 15 minute presentations - and lots of open Q&A
- Other SharePoint related bits & pieces (we're still working that bit out)...
- And some fun with a chat to other cities via LiveMeeting or such.
So, come along - it should be great fun - bring a friend, and/or client contacts.
We can drink a toast to SharePoint - as it will be our bread & butter for the next few years, eh !?! OK, maybe not a toast - just a beer... ;-)
We have put together a great Silverlight application that you can use to follow what people are saying about the event on Twitter - head on over to the Twitter page to check it out and get details on how you can get your tweets to appear on it!
Attendee's will enter to win a number of 'door prizes' :
- SharePoint Conference Ticket to be won in each user group ($650)
- XBox Elite pack with 5 free games (w00t !!)
- Other items being discussed & arranged
** NOTE : You must RSVP to be in the running for the major prize draw
There will also be a Twitter tag contest to decide a winner (#hashtag to be advised on the night)
Contact one of the following people in your local area for specific address & timing details.
An RSVP system is being prepared, allowing us to track numbers for catering - this is a free event, with no cost associated.
